Visa® card number security is of the highest importance to SMCU. When security breaches occur within companies that process credit and debit transactions for merchants, SMCU will reissue affected cards as soon as possible. SMCU is notified by VISA® USA as to the time of the security breach and the specific card numbers that were compromised. Those cards that we have been notified about will be replaced and SMCU members will receive their new Visa® Credit or Debit cards in the mail. Per Visa® policy, members are not responsible for any fraudulent charges.
